The Dunes are Alive...with the Sound of Music

What could be better than sitting down along the Alabama coast...toes in the sand, frosty drink in hand...listening to some of the best musical talent in the nation?

Music will waft over the Alabama Gulf Coast like a gulf breeze during the 25th Annual Frank Brown Songwriters' Festival. The festival (happening November 12-22) is a highlight of the fall season, bringing more than 100 songwriters from around the nation to croon their hearts out along our sandy shores. For 11 days, venues along the Alabama and Florida coast will offer a jam-packed schedule, featuring enough blues, country, gospel and rock-n-roll to soothe even the most savage beast.

The event, hosted by the world-famous Flora-Bama lounge on the Alabama/Florida border, is an opportunity to hear some of the songs we all know by heart, sung by the folks who penned them. And there’s no telling what new tunes will be unveiled.

Come tap your toes, snap your fingers and rock the night away. For a schedule of festival performances and venues, visit the festival website or call 850-492-SONG. Then boogie on over and book your visit right now so you won’t miss a single note.

Fall is the "par-fect" Time for Great Golf on the Gulf

Ahhh, fall. The season for pumpkins, apple cider, sweaters and… golf? While other spots on the globe may be preparing for a long winter’s nap, on Alabama’s Gulf Coast the temperatures are mild and golf course conditions are ideal. Add the appeal of late-fall rates and you’ve got the perfect recipe for that end-of-season buddy trip.

The Gulf Shores Golf Association can bundle rounds of golf on ten world-class courses with a variety of lodging options and build a customized and affordable stay-and-play package. Add to that the personalized attention you'll receive at every point of your stay, and you're looking at a golf trip that can't be beat.
